So, what's up?

I have two new favorite bands: Hey Marseilles and The Weepies. Give them a listen if you haven't yet. They're really good. I'm in love with their music.

IKEA is where we spent our whole afternoon on Friday. We needed new things for the apartment as we're currently doing some home improvements. It's time for the change and we're making progress.

White is the new color theme of the house. It's almost blinding. Eh. But I like it.

I'm going back to Dutch school in September. It's giving me the school girl feeling I haven't had for a very long time. I'm looking forward to shop for school supplies and plan my first day of school outfit. Haha!

We watched Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince this afternoon. I liked the drama and the cinematography but I expected a bit more action. Seeing the characters again, I only blurted out "they look so different and old!" twice. I would have probably said it a lot more if I haven't seen the trailer recently. Maybe I need to watch it again to appreciate it more. However, it did make me want to re-read the last two books.

My current guilty pleasure is reading Twilight fanfiction online. I've been at it since December and, in the process, made some friends in the forums. It's amazing to "meet" brilliant and talented writers online and have them share their gift for free. If you are a Twilight fan who wants to give Twi-fanfiction a go, I highly recommend this story: Hydraulic Level 5. It's full of angst though and the characters are all human but the writing is just SO good, I can't resist sharing it. It's also a work in progress so, if you're not one to wait for updates, don't read it until it's done. I'll let you know.

I also recently joined Twitter and I'm still boggled as to what it's used for. It's cute though so I don't really mind.

Wish I could go back to school too! I missed it and I really need to finish a degree though not really my current one, I'm not in love with my major anymore. I'm still not sure what to take, but for the time being.

That fanfic is in my queue of to read. I agree that there are a lot of brilliant writers out there. I highly recommend Wide Awake by angstgoddess003, all chapters are available in her LJ with the same username, 49/50 chapters posted.
I've already read WA and it's one of my favorites. I've been waiting for months for the last chapter and the epilogue. She hasn't updated for nearly 3 months. :(

By the way, congratulations on your baby! xox

It must be exciting to go back to school. I like the white theme for the house. =)
Yes, yes! I'm currently obsessed with white. It's just so clean and light.

Can't wait to see your home improvements. I just did some redecorating, but it is one big mess...it looks like an 'eclectic' mismatch of patterns hehe

It's great that you are going back to school. You're studying Dutch or another subject?
I'm waiting until it's not so messy to take pictures so I can show you. I also have an eclectic taste when it comes to decorating but I'm trying to stick to a theme. It's not so easy when you don't want to throw things away and buy new ones. You'll see what I mean soon!

I'm gonna study Niveau 3 to 4 Dutch. I was late to apply for uni so studying the Dutch language is my fall back. It's not as intensive as a full-time study but it's something else to do.

Oooh! Twilight fanfic! I was addicted to that last year. I've made a note of your recommendation. Will read it soon! :)
Yay! I'm not sure if I should tell you to read it now or later when it's done because it's full of heartfail! I would say wait until it's done but it'd be nice to know someone to discuss it with. It's not even halfway through the story yet... ahhh, I don't know. Read the first couple of chapters and you can decide. It's really really good!

Lucky you! You're going back to school.
Wish I have the drive to go back too...

hey boots, glad you're back. Hey Marseilles kind of reminds me of Dashboard Confessionals. And I like The Weepies at first listen. If you guys find yourselves in NY, don't forget to check out Rockwood Music Hall. Indíe artists. Small, intimate place. Candlelight. I miss sitting there with a glass of wine and listening to one artist after another perform...

I LOVE The Weepies! Good luck for Dutch school! How exciting! :)

P.S. I'm re-reading Twilight. All four books. Don't ask me how many times I've done this. LOL!
