Speech Bubble: Bed or Couch?

So, I have this question I've been thinking about recently.

Why is it that when a couple gets into a fight that ends with someone being kicked out of the bedroom, it's always the woman taking the bed while the man retires to the couch regardless?

Is it because it's a gentlemanly thing to do even if the woman was at fault? Or because the woman is the one who has the claim to that part of the house (almost like the kitchen)?

This is just a random thought - not particularly out of experience, but merely out of curiosity. Fortunately, that hasn't happened in our household.

Yet.

And, if it does, which is very unlikely but then again you never know, I'd gladly take the couch.

Oh, it happened to me, because I'm being a brat and not getting what I wanted with the discussion. K-kun would always shut up so as not to prolong the argument but I want discussion and hates his silence. I couldn't bear it so I sleep in the couch then waking up in bed the next day. LOL! It also happened one time that I kicked him out of the bed, I can't sleep after that and felt guilty, went to him after a couple of minutes and offered the bed, haha!

No couch. This is when the second bedroom comes in. =)

I'd go for the bed, we don't have a nice couch. Yet.

I think it's the gentleman thing to do :)

I;d take the bed, not that it's happened to me yet. I just prefer the comfy bed rather than the couch any day.

i won't leave the bed. not that i don't like the couch. i just don't like the thought of me going back to the bed when everything is ok again. you know - fried chix. :D

Hahaha! The hubby will most likely take the couch. This happened twice, and on both occasions, it was simply because he wouldn't let me have my way. I didn't kick him out of the bed though, he walked out of the room and opted for the couch. LOL!

hm, this made me think. nah, the hubby and i have a policy to resolve everything before going to bed. kasi isa lang ang bed namin and our couch is tiny. wahahahah!

the husband and i don't sleep angry at each other, and i wouldn't want to leave our bed because it's the warmest place to be in the cold nights.
